Pohang University of science and technology(포항공과대학교 POSTECH), was founded in 1986 and is the first research oriented university in South Korea. POSCO University of science and technology is one of the strongest universities in engineering in Korea and a member of the Pacific Rim University Alliance.

In a short period of more than 20 years, it has developed rapidly. With the school running concept of "providing the best education, conducting the most cutting-edge scientific research and serving the country and even the world", it has now developed into a world-class Research-oriented University of science and technology. There are 3000 students, 100 visiting scholars and researchers and 250 professors. The campus covers an area of 165 hectares and is located in a coastal city in Southeast Korea with first-class facilities.
