The University of Queensland (UQ) is one of the world's higher research institute. Founded in 1910, it is the first comprehensive university in Queensland. It is also one of the six sandstone universities. It is one of only three Australian members of 21 universities in the world. It is the Pacific Rim University Alliance and the Australian Eight Schools Alliance (Go8) Founding member of the university, member of UNIVERSITAS 21 and the International Alliance of New Engineering Education.
